Beverly United Methodist Church will hold in-person services on Pentecost Sunday, at 10 a.m. Sunday. The service will also be on Facebook. The church will maintain social distancing and have hand sanitizer available. Masks are recommended. It will be Confirmation and Graduate Sunday.

The Daily Bread on Gilman Avenue will resume operation on Wednesdays as of June 3. The weekly Saturday breakfast will continue at First Congregational United Church of Christ from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with the breakfast is invited to contact the church office at 740-373-0741

The Belpre City Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Stone Administration/Early Learning Center. Due to COVID-19 the meeting will be held virtually, for the purpose of reviewing and approving the five-year forecast for the district, approval to amend the estimated resources and appropriations for FY20, consideration of a reduction in force for the 2020-2021 school year, and consideration of COVID-19 extension of benefits for reduced staff.

The Washington County Board of Elections will be holding their regular monthly meeting and audit of the March 17, 2020 Primary Election at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Board of Elections Office.

The eastbound lane (downhill) of Lancaster Street is closed until repairs can be made following a slip. The westbound lane (uphill) will remain open. Local traffic should use Pearl Street Extension. Truck traffic will be rerouted to Groves Avenue.
