Upcoming meetings

¯ Trustees of Ludlow Township will hold their regular October meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at the town hall.

¯ Area 15 Workforce Development Board Members from Monroe, Morgan, Noble and Washington counties will hold a meeting from 9-11 a.m. Nov. 2. The Boards of County Commissioners from Monroe, Morgan, Noble, and Washington counties will hold an Area 15 Council of Governments Meeting at noon that day. Both meetings will be held virtually. ¯ The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a regular meeting at 5:15 p.m. Nov. 3. The meeting will be held virtually. Those wishing to participate are asked to contact Brenda Riffe at briffe@wcbdd.org.

¯ Independence Township trustees will hold a regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at the townhouse on Upper Archers Fork Road.

Slaughter House

Hill closure

Groves Avenue (Slaughter House Hill) will be closed by the Washington County Engineer’s Office on Nov. 2. starting at 7 a.m. for culvert replacement. The closure is estimated to last four days, and the road will be opened after 5 p.m. each day. There will be no through traffic, except emergency vehicles. Halloween

¯ Palmer Township Trick or Treat will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30.

¯ Beverly United Methodist Church will host Trunk or Treat from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the back parking lot, located at 700 Park St., Beverly.

¯ Marietta Family YMCA will hold a drive-through Trick or Treat Pick Up from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Sealed individual goodie bags will be given out. The YMCA is located in Complex 1, Building 3 of Broughton Business Park, 635-B State Route 821. For more information, call 740-663-1041.

¯ The Annual Halloween at the Park scheduled for Oct. 31 in Marietta has been canceled this year due to health guidelines.

Welfare league grants

¯ The Marietta Welfare League is accepting applications for the MWL Community Grants program. Grant applications will be accepted online only until 11:59 p.m. Oct. 31. Any nonprofit organization that directly benefits Washington County can apply via mariettawelfareleague.org/community-grants.
