¯ A patrolman investigated the theft of a gray trash can from the Touchless Shine Car Wash, 1105 Gilman Ave., on May 4. The suspect vehicle is a white, early 2000s model Ford F-150 with a red trailer hitch.

¯ Units were dispatched May 4 to a disturbance at 300 Ridgewood Court apartments. Upon arrival, units spoke with multiple witnesses and two suspects.

After warning both parties of disorderly conduct, both continued to argue and use profanity. As a result, Alyssa Deeter and Jon Barker Jr. were both cited for disorderly conduct by fighting.

¯ The Marietta Police Department opened an investigation May 5 regarding theft by deception.

¯ An officer responded to Walmart on May 5 on a theft complaint. On the officer’s arrival, he learned that a woman failed to scan several items at checkout and covered the items up to avoid detection. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Thursday to the Marietta police in reference to a misuse of credit card complaint.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who advised that his bank account was low and in checking the transaction sheet, he found multiple purchases that were made without his permission by the subject.

At this time, the case remains under further investigation.

¯ An officer was dispatched Friday to 215 Franklin St. about a theft of a West Virginia temporary license plate.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Saturday to 207 1/2 Montgomery St. about a man having overdosed. The subject was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital to be treated.

¯ An officer responded to Marietta Memorial Hospital on Sunday in reference to a subject with a knife wound. After speaking with the subject and the nurse, the officer learned the man stated he passed out while doing the dishes and fell on a steak knife he had in his hand.

The man advised he lives alone and no one was in his apartment at the time of the incident. This appears to be accidental and no foul play is suspected.

¯ A patrolman responded to Pizza Hut on Saturday in reference to a counterfeit $5 bill. After speaking with an employee, she advised she was not sure who passed the bill due to the time of day they possibly received it.

She advised she thinks they took it during their lunch time and they were busy. This investigation is ongoing.

¯ An officer was dispatched Saturday to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A woman was identified and was advised she would be summoned into court for theft.

¯ A patrolman responded Sunday to the 200 block of Sheldon Avenue in reference to a fight. Upon arrival and after investigation, it was determined that Matthew Shafer and Cody Knotts were in a mutual fight. Both were cited for disorderly conduct fighting.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Misty Gene Sealey, 39, of Cutler, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Gage O’Ryan Howell, 24, of Marietta, was arrested for driving under suspension, fictitious plates and possession of drugs, all misdemeanors.

¯ Timothy Dewayne Shumar, 26, of Lowell, was arrested for a probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Matthew Sanford Nixon, of Marietta, was arrested for contempt of court.

¯ Michelle Rae Oldfield, 54, of Marietta, was arrested for theft, breach of recognizance, drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.

¯ Cedric Duane Lane Sr., 38, of Parkersburg, was arrested for failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, a felony.

¯ Jerrie Lynn Rastorfer, 64, of Lower Salem, was arrested for breach of recognizance and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors; and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
