¯ A patrolman responded to Virginia Street on July 20 in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Andrew Davis was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

¯ A patrolman responded July 20 to the 300 block of Washington Street in reference to a juvenile runaway reporting physical abuse at her household.

¯ An officer was dispatched July 20 to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival and after the investigation, a 49-year-old woman was detained and questioned. The woman admitted to stealing several items. A summons was requested for theft.

¯ A subject reported July 21 that he had seen someone running from his apartment the day before carrying his DVD player. The male suspect also stole a cell phone.

¯ An officer responded to Walmart on July 21 in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival and after investigation, it was determined that a 33-year-old woman was using the self-checkout lane and failed to scan several items totaling $136.24. A summons will be requested for a charge of theft.

¯ Units responded July 21 to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. When officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, she fled on foot from officers and was later apprehended. The woman was identified as Taylor Brooke Stansberry. She was arrested and charged with theft and obstructing.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Friday to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 37-year-old woman who did not scan all her items in the self-checkout and attempted to exit the store with the unpaid merchandise. A summons was requested for theft.

¯ An officer was dispatched to Walmart on Friday in reference to a theft. A 41-year-old woman was observed not scanning and price tag switching. She will be summoned for theft.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched to Walmart on Friday in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival and after investigation, a 44-year-old woman was identified and confessed to shoplifting multiple items from the store. She will be summoned on a charge of theft.

¯ An officer was dispatched Saturday to the 800 block of Pike Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival and after the investigation, it was found that a domestic occurred. Wesley Joseph Huddleston was arrested for two counts of domestic violence and a felony count of disrupting public services for repeatedly taking the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling for help.

¯ An officer was dispatched Saturday to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. After the investigation, a man was found to have shoplifted multiple items and exited the store. The investigation is ongoing.

¯ A patrolman was checking on a suspicious person/vehicle in the Lowe’s parking lot Saturday. During the investigation, the patrolman found the subject slumped over and in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The suspected drugs will be sent for testing.

¯ An officer was dispatched Sunday to a Fifth Street residence in reference to a well being check on a 76-year-old woman. Upon the officer’s arrival, he found the victim deceased in her recliner. It appeared the victim had been deceased for some time. There were no signs of foul play.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. A 42-year-old woman was found to have not scanned multiple items at the self-checkout and exited past the last point of sale. A summons will be completed for the woman for theft.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to 753 Glendale Road Apt. 2 in reference to a vehicle that had been taken by an unknown individual. It was then returned with damage while the owner wasn’t home.

¯ An officer was dispatched Sunday to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. After the investigation, a 69-year-old woman was identified and will be summoned on a charge of theft after failing to pay for more than $500 in merchandise.

¯ A patrolman responded Monday to Walmart in reference to a possible theft complaint. After the investigation, the patrolman learned a 31-year-old woman was concealing items in her purse. She then began putting the items she had concealed back on the shelf and then paid for some items. The patrolman learned that she had previously trespassed on Walmart property. A summons will be requested for her to appear for criminal trespassing.

Reports/Washington County

¯ A deputy began an investigation Friday into a bad check written in Pioneer Township. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Deputies were dispatched Friday to the 500 block of Coal Run Drive, Lowell, to a report of a fight between a man and woman. It was reported that the woman was hitting the male. Prior to law enforcement arriving, the man and woman left the area.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers located the vehicle, and a traffic stop was conducted, with deputies responding. Amy Smithberger and William Carter were the vehicle occupants. Smithberger stated she went to pick up Carter at the residence on Coal Run Drive so he could visit with his child. Smithberger became upset with Carter, and admitted to yelling at Carter along with hitting and slapping him.

Based on the investigation a summons will be requested for Amy L. Smithberger, 34, of 111 North Hart St., Apt. 7, Marietta, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Saturday to a residence on Beach Drive, Belpre, to a report of Thomas Rocks harassing an individual in the area. Rocks denied yelling or harassing the individual. He had also been advised earlier in the month to not speak to the subject.

Rocks was again advised to cease contact. Upon the deputy walking away, Rocks could be heard loudly talking about the subject and went as far as to address the individual by name, who was outside at the time. The deputy placed Thomas M. Rocks, 65, of 2800 Beach Drive, Belpre, under arrest for disorderly conduct, cease and desist.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Saturday into destruction of property at Baker Cemetery. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant responded Saturday to a residence on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township for a reported domestic violence incident. The victim was advised by Kevin Ford that she was not allowed to leave her room and was assaulted by Ford as well. The pair had been in an argument and Ford had punched the victim multiple times, as well as thrown her to the ground.

Kevin Oliver Ford, 51, was charged with felony domestic violence and a warrant was requested. Ford was arrested Sunday at the residence.

¯ A deputy was advised Saturday of an assault inside the Washington County Jail between inmates Phillip Butler, Robert Blankenship and William Saylor. Saylor had been on a bunk when Blankenship came over and punched him. Butler then joined in on the assault, and it ended with everyone walking away.

Robert Dillon, 25, of 2437 Oak Alley, Syracuse, and Phillip Edward Butler, 38, of 729 Second St., Marietta, were both charged with assault.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Thomas Owen Wayne, 57, of Akron, was arrested for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor.

¯ David Wayne Wriston, 36, of Marietta, was arrested for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

¯ Cody Montell Knotts, 30, of Marietta, was arrested for possession of drugs, a felony.
