Financial services team up

MARIETTA — A financial planning company in Marietta since 1986, Fleming Watson Financial Advisors has joined Commonwealth Financial Services as part of the company’s expansion into Marietta.

Fleming Watson’s Certified Financial Planner Neal Watson, Jim Watson and Susan Watson will bring over 85 years of combined experience to the Commonwealth Team.

“Joining forces with Commonwealth is exciting. This partnership allows us to continue helping our clients for many years to come. Todd (Kimpel), Mike (Seese), and their team have built an outstanding company with a culture focused on putting clients first. We look forward to helping Commonwealth grow into the region’s leading financial planning firm,” Neal Watson said.

Started in 2003, Commonwealth Financial Services is an independent wealth management firm, providing financial, investment, and retirement preparation strategies through innovative planning to fit our clients’ goals, lifestyles, and budgets.

“We are excited to have Jim, Neal, and Susan join the Commonwealth Family. As Commonwealth grows, we are not looking for growth for the sake of growth. We value a commitment to the client first and foremost, people of high moral character that fit with our culture,” Commonwealth Co-Founder/Owner/Financial Advisor Todd Kimpel said. “The Team at Fleming Watson are exactly that kind of Team. We are also very pleased to become part of the Marietta Business Community. We look forward to learning from Jim, Neal, and Susan as we grow our ability to serve our clients.”

Watson said the benefit of merging with Commonwealth is offering stability for its clients for many years to come and it will make a stronger company even stronger by moving into the Marietta market.

“It creates a level of continuity that we didn’t have before that ensures that our business lasts beyond us. Giving our clients some peace of mind knowing that there’s someone there if something bad happens,” Watson said. “The other benefit is it helps grow a strong company into an even stronger position by moving into the Marietta market, in a significant way to continue to build our brand and build the company in a positive direction to become a leading financial planning firm in the area.”

While this will be the first Commonwealth location in Marietta, the office will remain the same at 512 Third St.

Marietta joins a growing list of locations that offer Commonwealth services, with offices in Parkersburg, Wheeling, St. Clairsville, Athens and Woodsfield.

Neal Watson said he is already looking forward to working with Commonwealth’s experienced staff of financial advisers.

“Dad and I will make nine total advisers on staff with the company. There’s a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge there, and a different viewpoint on a lot of things that we maybe didn’t have before. Just even more expertise on that team then than we had in years past,” Neal Watson said.
