¯ A deputy was dispatched Sept. 3 to 106 Berry Lane, Marietta Township, to a report by Daniel Stalnaker stating Randy Milstead punched him in the face after a property dispute. Stalnaker cares for property adjacent to Milstead’s property. Stalnaker observed Milstead and another subject, taking sticks and tree trunks onto the property.

Stalnaker confronted the subjects. Milstead states that Stalnaker was in his face yelling and using profanity. An argument ensued where Milstead was pushed by Stalnaker. Stalnaker then punched Milstead, which knocked him down.

After this, the subjects returned to their respective homes. After completing the investigation, it was determined that a summons would be requested for Daniel Ray Stalnaker, 53, of 106 Berry Lane, Marietta, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

¯ A sergeant responded Sept. 4 to the intersection of Ohio 339 and Ohio 550, Barlow Township, in reference to a report of a truck sitting at the intersection and the driver appearing to be slumped over.

The vehicle was located, and the driver, identified as David Graves, was found slumped over the steering wheel, with the truck still running and in drive. The sergeant knocked on the window at which time Graves turned towards him and put his finger over his mouth as to try to get him to be quiet.

Graves was asked to roll down the window and upon doing so an odor of alcoholic beverage was detected from inside the vehicle. When asked how much he had to drink, Graves replied three Jack and Cokes.

When asked if there was anything in the vehicle that he shouldn’t have, he stated a loaded handgun in the center console and a gun in a case in the back seat. Graves was then asked to exit the vehicle.

Graves was asked to submit to standard field sobriety tests and he stated he would. Graves was instructed on each of the tests and he performed poorly on all tests. David L. Graves II, of 1014 23rd St., Dickinson, Texas, was arrested for OVI and weapons while intoxicated.

He was transported to the Marietta Police Department and asked to submit to the BAC test. Graves tested .076 and was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

¯ Units were dispatched Sept. 4 to the area of Bear Creek Road to a report of a woman stating a man had an 8-year-old with a gun making threats.

While responding to the area, more information was received in reference to a subject having someone tied up at their house, or possibly a child banging on a window. Deputies met with Angela S. Johnson, who stated she had just left a residence on Little Bear Creek Road where the resident was holding a child against their will.

Johnson stated the resident had a gun and was making threats. Deputies responded to the address where this allegedly occurred and met with the resident. After explaining why deputies were there, the resident stated Johnson had not been acting right and was saying off the wall statements that didn’t make sense.

Deputies were given full consent to search the entire property which they did, not locating anyone on the property, nor finding evidence to show someone had been there. Deputies responded in an emergency manner due to multiple neighbors being worried about the safety of the child.

After completing the investigation it was determined that Angela Stephanie Diane Johnson, 47, of 1710 Browns Road, Marietta, would be placed under arrest and charged with inducing panic.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Sept. 5 in Lowell regarding a stolen dirt bike. The victim refused to prosecute.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Sept. 6 to Pike Street, Marietta Township, to a report of Matthew Sandy throwing rocks at his wife at her place of employment. The deputy spoke with witnesses at the scene and determined that Matthew T. Sandy, 38, of Marietta, would be placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Sept. 7 into a dog bite in Barlow Township. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Sept. 7 in Fairfield Township regarding a financial scam. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Sept. 7 in Lawrence Township regarding a cabin being broken into and items taken. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant responded Sept. 8 to 1603 Calder Ridge Road, Dunham Township, to Robert Tate reporting a man at this address threw a beer can at him, striking him in the leg. Tate advised he stopped at the address to speak with the residents.

Tate stated he was speaking with a man, later identified as William Morris. Tate stated Morris yelled at him to get off of his property. Tate asked Morris if he was upset about some fans he took that were in the trash and the male yelled at him to leave and threw a beer can at him.

Tate stated the can went through his open passenger window, striking him in the leg, causing beer to get all over the interior of his car and his pants. A summons will be requested for William Morris on a charge of disorderly conduct.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Thursday on Tennis Center Drive where a vehicle was entered and items taken. This case remains under investigation.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Dejon Josiah Jackson, 29, of Cleveland, was arrested for improper handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony.

¯ Thomas Edward Nicholson, 33, of Beverly, was arrested for a parole violation, a felony.

¯ Gary Leonard Travis, 33, of Parkersburg, was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor.

¯ Cheyenne Nickole Arthur, 24, of Wellston, was arrested for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension, both misdemeanors.

¯ Sara Ann Safreed, 30, of Marietta, was arrested for theft, a felony; and misuse of credit card and theft, both misdemeanors.

¯ Colten Wyatt Pugh, 30, of Belpre, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drug of abuse or a combination, a felony, and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

¯ Mackenzie Nichole Vogt, 26, of Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Richard Anthony Sanchez, 26, of St. Clairsville, was arrested for driving under suspension and speed, both misdemeanor.

¯ Dylan James Schob, 22, of Lowell, was arrested for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

¯ Baxter Lee Grimes, 44, of New Matamoras, was arrested for theft, a felony.

¯ William Ray Adams, 45, of Reedsville, was arrested for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

¯ Melissa Ann Hennen, age unknown, of Belpre, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.
