Carney is an award-winning musician, producer, and journalist who won first place with his band at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn., in 2007, kickstarting a 15-year period of international touring that included concerts in 29 countries and more than 50 European tours.
Carney founded Blues For A Cure in 2007. The program has raised more than half a million dollars for cancer research, most notably funding The Heather Pick Music Program at The OSU James Cancer Hospital. Additionally, Carney has introduced hundreds of young musicians to roots music and performance through his CAMP Blues program at The Jazz Academy.
Friel is a young artist with songwriting and performance abilities far ahead of his years. He has been playing live on stage for almost 15 years. The last 10 of those years he has toured the U.S. as well as internationally. Friel is considered by many as one of the great up and coming singers and harmonica players in the Blues scene. Growing up in Canton, Friel credits huge musical inspiration from artists such as Dan Auerbach and Patrick Sweany who are also from the area.
