Marietta City Schools Board of Education President Cody Parman asked for a moment of silence for Izabelle Beck during the board’s regular meeting Monday night. Beck was a student at Marietta High School who passed away Jan. 7. Parman said the search for the new superintendent is being done by the company Future Leaders. He said the district and the company will be doing a focus group soon with staff, students, teachers and parents to get their feedback. He said it was a nationwide search and that the application deadline for the new superintendent is March 31. Read more from Monday’s meeting in Wednesday’s edition of The Marietta Times.
