Chemours to present check to local academies
PARKERSBURG — Chemours is scheduled to present a check to Franklin Elementary and the Wood County Technical Center during the regular meeting of the Wood County Board of Education on Tuesday.
The board will also get a visit from the Parkersburg South High School ROTC and Student Council along with an update on the Williamstown High School soccer program.
There will be a presentation from McKinley Associates on the new Lubeck Elementary project and the board will get updates about the Human Anatomy and Physiology II dual credit courses and an i-Ready Winter Benchmark update.
The board will also vote on the recommendation that the Outside School Environment Days of June 6 and June 9 be converted to in-person instructional days to meet the 180-day instructional term requirement. This would make the last day for the 200-day employment term June 11.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Bailey Board Room located at the board offices at Plum and 13th streets in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online.
