Marietta resident part of Mount Union choral concert

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Ava Powers of Marietta will participate with the University of Mount Union Concert Choir, Cantus, Kantorei and Voce Bassa, under the direction of Beth Polen, in a spring concert entitled “Awakening” on Sunday.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.

The concert features works by Monteverdi, MacMillan, J.S. Bach and Joseph Martin, among others.

“‘Awakening’ is a powerful choral journey that explores the emergence of self, soul, spirit and purpose through music spanning centuries,” said Polen. “This concert weaves together timeless masterpieces and contemporary voices, reflecting the profound moments of realization and transformation that shape who we are.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors/veterans and are available to order by visiting mountunion.edu/boxoffice or calling the Box Office at 330-821-2565 or ordering in-person at the Box Office, Monday-Friday; 2:30-4:30 p.m. when classes are in session. Students are free, but tickets must be ordered by calling the box office or visiting during normal business hours.
