House screening panel recommends Ty Moore to fill 95th House District seat
Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima) announced Monday that a House screening panel has recommended Ty Moore, of Caldwell, to fill the vacant 95th House District seat.
The seat has been unfilled since June 1, following the resignation of former State Representative Don Jones, of Freeport.
Jones stepped down after being appointed by President Donald Trump to serve as state executive director for the Ohio Farm Service Agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Moore is currently serving his third term as a Noble County commissioner. He is also co-owner and vice president of R.C. Moore Lumber Company, based in Caldwell.
The screening panel was chaired by Speaker Pro Tempore Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville), and included other House members tasked with reviewing and recommending candidates.
“Mr. Moore’s proven leadership, dedication to public service, and vision for his community make him the ideal choice to represent the 95th House District,” said Manning.
Moore’s selection will be subject to a vote by Republican members of the Ohio House during the next scheduled session today.
The 95th House District includes all of Harrison, Noble and Morgan counties, as well as parts of Belmont, Guernsey and Athens counties.
