Parkersburg man dies in Watertown Twp. auto crash

WATERTOWN TWP. — A Parkersburg man died Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash on Ohio 339 in Washington County.

According to a release from the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 4:59 a.m. Wednesday near milepost 12 on Ohio 339 in Watertown Township.

The investigation determined a 2008 Ford F-150, operated by Colt Porter, 21, of Parkersburg, was traveling north on Ohio 339 and went off the right side of the road. The truck traveled down a small embankment and struck a grove of trees.

Porter, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, a trooper said.

The crash remains under investigation by the patrol.

Responding to the scene along with the patrol were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, Barlow Volunteer Fire Department and Squad, Washington County Coroner’s Office and Shea’s Towing.
