Belpre Rotary to host Casino Night fundraising event
Tickets are now on sale for Belpre Rotary Club’s first Casino Night, set for Oct. 19 at American Legion Post 64, 800 Wooster St. in Marietta.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the Casino Tournament from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Attendees will accumulate chips throughout the evening, which will be converted into prize raffle tickets. Chip redemption will begin at 9:20 p.m. with prize drawings at 10 p.m. Attendees must be present to win.
Prize raffle tickets are placed by the attendee into any one of the prize bags corresponding to that prize, which can be cash or a physical prize, including a television, gift cards and a cheerbasket. Attendees are eligible to win only one prize.
Food will be served until 10 p.m., which includes heavy hor d’oeuvres catered by Belair’s Bistro and Catering of Belpre. Last call for drinks will be 10:30 p.m. An open bar bracelet is $20, with individual drink tickets available for $5.
The initial ticket purchase entitles the attendee to three raffle tickets and one “chip card” for 10,000 in chips. Chips have no cash value. Three chip denominations will be available: 1,000, 5,000, and 25,000. Attendees can re-buy chips throughout the evening.
Games available for play include craps, double roulette, poker and blackjack. All games will have a minimum bet of 1,000 in chips.
The cost is $65 per ticket, and half of the ticket cost is a tax-deductible charitable donation. A limited number of tickets will be sold and will be available at the door. All proceeds will be donated to charity, according to Casino Night Committee Chairperson Rob Doyle. The first $10,000 raised will be donated to Strecker Cancer Center. The remaining proceeds will be added to Belpre Rotary Club funds which are donated to local, regional and international charities, Doyle said.
