Democratic Women’s Club continues community outreach

The members of Washington County Democrats Women’s Club have chosen Gospel Mission Food Bank as the beneficiary of 60 pounds of food donation and $15 cash.

Dedication shown by the Waite’s and all the Gospel Mission staff and volunteers is appreciated. Gospel Mission Food Bank is located on Lancaster Street in Marietta’s West Side.

The Washington County Democratic Women’s Club meets every month and will be collecting shelf-stable food and household products, and donating to Gospel Mission on a monthly basis.

The September donation consists of 60 pounds of food, and $15 cash, all of which goes to feed our neighbors.

The Democratic Women is a small group of dedicated citizens who meet the last Thursday of every month for lunch, an informational meeting, and to work on projects for the betterment of life in Washington County. New members are welcome!

Upcoming activities are posted to the Facebook page (Washington County OH Democratic Party). Letter-writing parties take place at the Democratic Party Headquarters on Putnam Street (next door to Mid-Ohio Valley Players’ Theater) Oct. 1-4.

The Washington County Democrats’ big Spring Dinner and Country Store Auction fundraisers will be held Oct. 12 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Marietta’s West Side. Social hour with snacks and an auction raffle will be held at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $30 per person. Democratic candidates in upcoming elections will be guest speakers. Visit the Dems’ office on Putnam Street for your dinner ticket or pay at the door.

Next women’s club meeting: Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, and a noon-1 p.m. meeting at the VFW on Pike Street in Marietta.
