Casto reunion held

The annual Casto Reunion for the descendants of John and Renna Molze Casto was held at Elks Lodge #477 on Saturday, July 10. In attendance were 77 people. Those traveling from out-of-state were from New York and Texas.

A potluck dinner was served. Chris Casto gave the invocation.

The business meeting was called to order by President Laurie Neader. Officers elected for 2022 reunion were Laurie Neader, president, Brad Bauer, vice president, Angie Scott, treasurer, Jessica Mossack, secretary, Pam Bailey and Kathleen Schneider, historians; Laurie Neader and Angie Scott, care committee. Chris and Tammy Casto, Steve and Jill Casto, Wes Casto and Jessica Mossack volunteered for the set-up committee for next year’s reunion. Tammy Casto will provide table service.

Laurie Neader gave the treasurer’s report.

Pamela Bailey and Kathy Schneider, historians, reported during the year there were four marriages: Joseph Davis to Dawn Mendoza; McKayla Britton to Kohen Mosser; Miranda Casto to Zack Caldwell; Kelsey Taylor to Dillon Bagwell.

Births: Karter Scott Britton to Tyler Britton and Tristen Heckert; Gracelynn Nicole Holland to Ciera Meridith and Cody Holland; Kaden Paul Mosser to Kohen and Kayla Mosser; Valleigh Elizabeth Tebay to Jansen Mossack and Casey Tebay.

High School and College graduates: Blade Britton, Williamstown High School; Kylie Midcap, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr. High School; Joshua Taylor, George Walton High School, Cobb Co. Georgia; Madison Schuman, Marietta High School and Washington State Community College; Mariah Bloomingdale, West Virginia University.

Deaths reported: Randall Whitney Young, July 31, 2020; Hope Cline Keith, January 23, 2021; Michael Charles Neader, February 16, 2021; Danielle Vanwey, March 7, 2021; Garrett Scott, May 10, 2021 and Brian Casto, June 30, 2021.

Currently serving in the military is Brian Scott Myers, Chief Petty Officer, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Navy Base, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Luke Griego, Texas A & M MSC Program.

Chris Casto served as auctioneer for the white elephant sale assisted by Steve Casto.

Ronald Casto was the eldest attending and Valleigh Elizabeth Tebay was youngest attending. Steve and Jill Casto were recognized for traveling the furthest, Cumby Texas.

The next reunion will be on July 9, 2022 at the Reno School Complex.
