• On Sept. 29, while working at the Barlow Fair, deputies became aware of an incident involving a 20-year-old male and a female juvenile. Zachary Ray Hinton, 20, of 871 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, asked a juvenile for assistance moving a vehicle as he had been drinking and did not feel safe doing it alone. After moving the vehicle Hinton and the juvenile began kissing, however the victim exited the vehicle when Hinton wanted to go further. It was reported that Hinton forced the juvenile to participate in a sexual act, however she was able to escape from him after he had been told no several times. On Oct. 11, detectives met with Hinton who stated the acts were consensual and that he thought the juvenile was older. Detectives further became aware that Hinton knew the victim’s family and knew the victim’s age. Hinton was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Hinton was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

• During a traffic stop Oct. 9 on Ohio 7 near Veto Road, contact was made with the driver, Johnathan Hess, and passenger, Mikaela Schramm. While speaking with the couple, both appeared very nervous. Hess pulled out a large sum of cash when asked for his information, and denied any wrongdoing. Schramm did admit to having marijuana at which time K9 Rita was taken around the vehicle with a positive indication being made on the passenger door. The occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. Hess and Schramm were standing in front of the patrol vehicle and observed on the ground beside Schramm was a clear baggie. The deputy was advised that Hess had swallowed/licked the baggie clean as it contained meth and/or meth residue. Hess then threw/spit the baggie on the ground so as not to get caught with it. Johnathan Michael Hess, 32, of 925 Wiley St., Belpre, was placed under arrest and charged with tampering with evidence and driving in marked lanes. The deputy also located a baggie of meth in Schramm’s purse, along with the marijuana and marijuana pipe. Mikaela Morgan Schramm, 23, of 218 Alta St., Marietta, was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Hess and Schramm were transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

• A deputy responded to Adams Township on Oct. 10 for a possible domestic incident. In speaking with all parties this was determined to be unfounded.

• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 11 in reference to possible missing firearms. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 11 into littering and trespassing in the Muskingum Township area. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy responded to Newbury Road, Little Hocking, on Saturday for a report of a possible domestic dispute. Anthony Hopkins reported that he and Pamela Hopkins were arguing about him leaving. Anthony had been trying to get some belongings while they were arguing and Pamela tried to stop him. Anthony stated that was when he accidentally hit Pamela in the jaw with his elbow. Anthony went on to state that Pamela started hitting him in the face after he struck her. Pamela left the residence when Anthony called to report it to law enforcement, later returning. Pamela advised she was not sure if Anthony struck her on purpose or by accident, however they had been arguing. Pamela denied hitting Anthony in the face. A charge of disorderly conduct was filed on Anthony R. Hopkins, 32, of 1040 Old Rosemar Road, Parkersburg, and Pamela Marie Hopkins, 33, of 469 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, through Marietta Municipal Court.

• A deputy was dispatched to Dollar General, 10282 State Route 550, Barlow on Saturday for a report of stolen merchandise from the store. A warrant is being requested for Jerry L. Corbin, 54, of 6401 Lightner Ridge Road, Stockport, on a charge of theft.

• On Sunday, a deputy was advised that inmate Brynn Martin had written down inmate Darin Craig’s account information without his permission or knowledge. It was reported that Martin had used the information to make phone calls. Through investigation, it was discovered that Martin had in fact used the account information belonging to Craig. Brynn Keith Martin, 40, of 122 Van Zant Road, Bidwell, was arrested and charged with theft.

• On Monday, a deputy began an investigation in reference to tools being stolen from an ODOT construction site. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy was dispatched to 171 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, on Monday for a squad run for Hayley Jett. Dispatch advised Jett was having medical issues, and she later admitted to using meth, requesting the squad bring Narcan. The deputy met with Jett at the medical facility. Jett admitted the substance in her wallet was methamphetamine. A summons is being requested for Haley Ashton Jett, 28, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Saturday, a deputy began an investigation into a theft of medication. This case remains under investigation.

• On Thursday, deputy began an investigation into a bad check passed at Napoli’s Pizza, Barlow, for $33.95. This case remains under investigation.

• Erich Nakoma Wenner, 42, of 210 S. Seventh St., McConnelsville, was arrested for forgery, a felony, and driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

• Timothy Matthew Sampson, 28, of Cedar Bark Apartments, 4D, Marietta, was arrested for tampering with evidence, a felony, and littering, a misdemeanor.

• Hayde Marie Leek, 20, of 63 Thornberry Hill Drive, Parkersburg, was arrested for possessing drug abuse instruments, contempt of court and drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

• Samuel Gomez-Marcos, 23, of 330 Fifth St., Dover, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, seat belt violation and failure to control, all misdemeanors.
