• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 26 into an assault in Decatur Township. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy responded to 751 Ridgewood Blvd., Belpre, on Oct. 26 for a breaking and entering at a new residence being constructed. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 26 into a theft of checks. This case remains under investigation.

• During a traffic stop Oct. 26 near the intersection of Ohio 339 and Lewis Pointe Drive, the driver, Donald Lee McMullen, had a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage about his person, along with him slurring his speech. McMullen stated he had been drinking. McMullen completed standardized field sobriety tests and performed poorly on them. McMullen, 81, of 109 Holly Drive, Elizabeth, W.Va., was placed under arrest for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

• Paula Rankin, of Marietta, reported Oct. 27 the theft of a cast iron bell. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 27 into a counterfeit bill. This case remains under investigation.

• A deputy began an investigation Oct. 27 into the theft of a concrete golfer statue stolen from a Bender Road residence. This case remains under investigation.

• Patti Perry reported items stolen from a property in Dunham Township on Wednesday. This case remains under investigation.

Arrests/Washington County

The following people were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

• Earl Travis McIntyre, 29, of 53497 Lydia Road, Coolville, was arrested for falsification, driving under suspension, failure to display, all misdemeanors.
