• Speedway, 433 Second St., reported a theft of merchandise by an employee on April 21.

• Timothy C. Wright, of 201 Washington St., reported receiving a package in the mail April 21 that contained dead rodents.

• Lori D. Hanson, of 3703 Warren Chapel Road, reported April 21 that she forgot her debit card after making a purchase at a store and learned the card had been used in the 15 minutes between when she left the store and realized the card was missing.

• Miranda J. Duty, of 108 Sharon St., reported April 22 that her car and home were struck with eggs.

• During a traffic stop Thursday, a K-9 gave a positive indication for drugs in the vehicle. A small baggie contained a crystalline substance was located and will be sent for testing.

• On Friday, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling the wrong way down a one-way street. A passenger was identified as Joshua Lynn Ballard, of 4700 Dalzell Road, Whipple, and it was learned he had an active warrant through Pleasants County, W.Va. He was arrested.

• An officer was dispatched to 832 Ridge St. on Saturday in reference to a possible DOA. A 72-year-old woman was found deceased due to natural causes.

• Officers were dispatched to 205 Montgomery St. on Saturday in reference to a disturbance. It was learned the caller and Joshua Sprague had gotten into a dispute over property at 101 W. Montgomery St. The issue was a civil matter and both parties were counseled. It was learned that Sprague, of 101 W. Montgomery St., had a warrant for failing to appear in court on a traffic violation and he was arrested on the warrant.

• An officer responded to Interstate 77, milepost 2, on Sunday in reference to two people walking on the highway. They were determined to be runaway juveniles from Monroe County who were returned to their guardian.

• An officer investigated a domestic violence complaint on Sunday. It was learned that Paul Anthony Wallace II, of 826 Boulevard Drive, Belpre, grabbed his mother and pushed her over a railing. He was arrested for domestic violence.

• Officers were dispatched to 213 Dale St. Monday in reference to a breaking and entering. This case remains under investigation.

Reports/Washington County

• A deputy responded to 1665 Glendale Road on Sunday for a domestic dispute complaint. Jeffry R. Voycik had called dispatch stating he was in an altercation with his mother, Susan Meredith. Meredith advised Voycik was using a flashlight belonging to her and she took the flashlight back and returned to bed. Voycik followed Meredith to her sleeping area and stood over top of her demanding the flashlight back. Voycik grabbed his mother and tried to move her, in which Meredith smacked him to get him away from her. Voycik gave the same accounts as his mother and stated he took her phone so she couldn’t call the sheriff’s office. Jeffry Ryan Voycik, 37, was placed under arrest for disrupting public service and domestic violence. Voycik was transported to the Washington County Jail.

• On Sunday, a deputy responded to High Street, Vincent, for a report of items inside the home being stolen. This case remains under investigation.

Arrests/Washington County

The following people were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

• Sydney Rain Bartimess, 20, of 521 ½ N. Seventh St., Marietta, was arrested for two counts of probation violation, and breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors.

• Rusty Allen Knowlton, 47, of 110 Morningside Drive, New Matamoras, was arrested for trafficking in drugs, a felony.

• Melissa Jean Beagle, 37, of 101 Evans St., Apt. B15, New Matamoras, was arrested for trafficking in drugs, a felony.

• Kristopher Michael Welch, 28, of George Street, Belpre, was arrested for possession of drugs, a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug abuse instruments and having physical control of a vehicle, all misdemeanors.
