¯ A patrolman investigated a suspicious person complaint Feb. 16. Dustin Riley was arrested on a warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance with loud thumping Feb. 16 at 300 Ridgewood Court, Apt. 1. Upon arrival, the resident refused to allow the officer in to check the welfare of occupants. Brandon Scott Wade Bruce was arrested for obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
¯ An officer was dispatched Feb. 16 to Hillcrest Drive at Gross Street in reference to a car high centered on the curb and a possible intoxicated driver. It was learned that the operator was diabetic and a squad was called. The driver was in need of diabetic treatment and was taken to the hospital. No charges were filed.
¯ Officers responded Feb. 17 with the Marietta Fire Department to a structure fire at 101 W. Montgomery St. The fire was extinguished by the fire department while officers provided scene security and traffic control.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Feb. 12 to a traffic crash. It was found the person at fault fled the scene. Contact was made with the fleeing driver, who provided a false name. His real identity has been determined and warrants were requested.
¯ An officer began an investigation Feb. 17 into an unruly and runaway 17-year-old male. The juvenile was located and is receiving a summons through juvenile court for unruly child.
¯ A patrolman began an investigation Feb. 17 into a domestic disturbance that occurred at 627 Second St. As a result of the investigation, Lance Michael Nevin was arrested for domestic violence by threat.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Thursday to 114 Westview Ave. in regards to a door appearing to have been pried.
¯ On Thursday, the Marietta Police Department began an investigation into theft of cash at Boat House BBQ, 218 Virginia St.
¯ Officers were dispatched Thursday to a local hotel at 202 Cherry Tree Lane in reference to the manager requesting the removal of a man and woman from a room due to drug abuse. Also in the room were two loaded handguns. Joseph Turpin was arrested for weapons under disability.
¯ A patrolman responded Thursday to 113 Nelson Ave. in reference to a neighbor dispute over property lines. As a result of the investigation, a warrant for menacing is being requested on one party.
¯ Units were dispatched Thursday to 401 Matthew St. in reference to an individual at that location with an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, units located and arrested Jonathan Douglas Dotson. Upon searching Dotson, it was discovered he was in possession of a glass pipe with white residue on the inside.
¯ Units were dispatched Thursday to 401 Matthew St. in reference to a possible sexual assault involving a juvenile. This case is still under investigation.
¯ An officer was dispatched Saturday to 1404 1/2 Colegate Drive in regards to a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle’s owner reported his teal 1994 Chevy 1500 truck was stolen while his son had it. Upon speaking with the owner’s son, he advised on Friday, he was at a friend’s house, 204 Dale St., helping install carpet. He advised he decided he was going to run out for food and started his pickup prior to. While the vehicle was running, it was believed another man that was there took the vehicle without permission.
¯ Units were dispatched Saturday to 729 Seventh St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim and James O’Brien. Through the investigation, it was found that O’Brien had brandished a large knife, threatened serious harm to the victim, kept her from leaving and destroyed her phone. He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of felonious assault, disrupting public services and kidnapping.
¯ An officer received a call Saturday reporting a missing 25-year-old man. The subject was missing from Licking County, but was last seen at Marietta Memorial Hospital. This case is under investigation. The man was later located in Licking County.
¯ On Sunday, a patrolman investigated a report of a stolen laptop from a vehicle at 208 Flintwood Drive.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Monday to the 500 block of Fort Street in reference to a man fleeing probation officers. Upon arrival, Robert Price was placed under arrest for a failure to appear warrant and obstruction of official business.
¯ An officer was dispatched Monday to the Lafayette Hotel in regards to a homeless man sleeping on a couch. Uriah Hill has been advised and arrested for trespass at this location within the last 30 days. He was arrested and transported to jail.
