¯ A two-car crash occurred May 28 on Ohio 550 in Barlow Township. William J. Lumley, 22, of 14012 State Route 550, Fleming, and Jamilynn K. Biedel, 56, of 47 Burchett Alley, Waterford, were both eastbound on Ohio 550. Lumley was overtaking Biedel’s 2017 Ford Expedition. Bidel was pulling off the left side of the roadway into a gravel pull off and was struck by Lumley’s 2008 Jeep Commander. No citations were issued.

¯ Sherman A. Cain, 75, of 400 Plymouth Hollow Road, North Tazewell, Va., and Michael Wesley Pines, 45, of 6761 Coventry St., New Orleans, La., were northbound May 29 on Interstate 77 in Salem Township. Pines made an improper lane change in his 2010 Volvo truck, which is owned by Lucky Wheels LLC of Mount Prospect, Ill. He forced Cain’s 2012 Suzuki Equator off the right side of the roadway, where Cain struck a construction barrel. Pines continued from the scene without stopping. He was cited for changing lanes before ascertaining that the movement could be made with reasonable safety.

¯ William K. Mullins, 50, of 1033 Oakland Park Ave., Columbus, was southbound May 31 on Ohio 555 in Deerfield Township when he drove his 2014 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch. He and his passenger, Rachel A. Mullins, 47, of the same address, were both taken by Crooksville Squad to Genesis Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Mullins was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of the vehicle.

¯ Sean G. Murphy, 33, of 29520 Murphy Road, Coolville, was northbound May 31 on Township Road 298 in Belpre Township when his 2017 Buick Envision went left of the center line and off the left side of the roadway. His vehicle went down an embankment, struck a fence and overturned. He was treated at the scene by Little Hocking EMS. He was cited for not driving within a marked lane.

¯ Charles S. Vernon, 60, of 11070 Loudermilk Road, Glouster, was northbound May 31 on Ohio 555 in Marion Township. Esther M. Kennedy, 48, of 7415 Wood Road, Chesterhill, was southbound on Ohio 555. Vernon’s 2021 Harley Davidson Road King went left of center and struck Kennedy’s 2016 Nissan Rogue. He continued off the left side of the roadway and Kennedy came to a controlled stop off the roadway. He was cited for not driving on the right half of the roadway.

¯ Michele R. Hendershot, 62, of 8311 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, was eastbound June 2 on County Road 3 in Warren Township. Todd M. Noland, 40, of 3401 Cabin Fork Road, Ravenswood, was northbound on the railway in a 1995 Jackson Mfg. railcar owned by Belpre Industrial Parkersburg Railroad of Marietta. Hendershot failed to yield in her 2018 Kia Soul and was struck by Noland’s vehicle. Hendershot was taken by Warren Fire Department to Marietta Memorial Hospital with possible injuries. She was cited for not stopping within 50 feet, but not less than 15 feet, from the nearest rail of the railroad.

¯ Debra C. Hunter, 64, of 39411 Township Road 1004, New Matamoras, was northbound June 2 on County Road 33 in Grandview Township. She drove her 2006 Dodge Dakota off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. She was taken by New Matamoras Squad to Marietta Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries. No citations were issued.

¯ Deborah Downing, 26, of 513 1/2 Market St., Marietta, was eastbound on Ohio 550 in Warren Township on June 3. Her 2001 Dodge Ram went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. She re-entered the road, went off the left side and struck an embankment. She was treated at the scene by the Warren Fire Department Squad. She was cited for operating without being in reasonable control of the vehicle.

¯ Jacob B. Nelson, 20, of 10474 Veto Road, Belpre, was northbound on Ohio 7 in Warren Township on June 4. His 2004 Subaru Legacy went off the right side of the roadway, struck a pole and a fence before overturning. He was taken by Warren FD Squad to Marietta Memorial Hospital with possible injuries. He was cited for operating without being in reasonable control of the vehicle.

¯ Rainie Niceswanger, 35, of 4506 Johnson Ridge Road, Stockport, was traveling eastbound on Ohio 676 in Wesley Township. Adam Edward Silvers, 23, of 4738 Woodworth Road, Andover, was traveling westbound. Silvers traveled left of the center line on his 2004 Honda CB900F/Hornet and struck Niceswanger’s 1986 Chevy Caprice. Silvers then went off the right side of the roadway and overturned. He was taken by Barlow EMS to Marietta Memorial with suspected minor injuries. He was cited for not driving on the right half of the roadway.

¯ Charlotte Anne Simpkins, 72, of 45053 Long Ridge Road, Clarington, and Caroline Lindsey Grace, 27, of 821 Grandview Ave., New Matamoras, were southbound on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township on June 6. Simpkins slowed her 2004 Honda Odyssey to make a right turn. Grace failed to slow her 2007 Honda Civic in time and struck Simpkins. Grace was cited for not stopping with an assured clear distance ahead.

Reports/Washington County

¯ A deputy was dispatched Sunday to a 911 hang up on Francis Road, where a female could be heard screaming. Dispatch made contact with Taylor McCracken, however she refused to provide any details.

McCracken finally advised her location and advised the other subject was Antonio Munos. McCracken denied anything but a verbal argument took place with Munos. Munos denied anything had taken place, stating the dispatcher just heard the dogs.

McCracken stated Munos was calling her vulgar names, and that she eventually pulled his hair. A summons for disorderly conduct is being requested for Taylor Brooke McCracken, 21, of 52 Cornerville Road, Marietta, and Antonio Salazar Munos, 18, of 502 1/2 Wooster St., Marietta.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Monday to Ohio 555, Cutler, to a report of a male threatening to shoot the residents. The deputy learned the man making the threats was Sheldon Hill, and he had made contact with the residents. The subjects advised that Hill drove in their yard and a verbal argument ensued. Further investigation and attempts to locate Hill were conducted.

A warrant was requested for Sheldon Dwight Hill, 38, of 11827 State Route 555, Cutler, for three counts of aggravated menacing.

¯ A deputy filed criminal assault charges Monday on inmate Anthony William Doerfer, 37, of 43820 Cook Road, Pomeroy, for an assault on another inmate in the Washington County Jail.

¯ Deputies responded Wednesday to 2100 Hill St., Apt. B, Belpre, at the request of the Belpre Police Department. Patrolmen were talking with a man, identified as Ryan Brown, in the doorway of the apartment.

Brown was asked to exit the apartment, however he refused. Officers advised Brown multiple times to exit the apartment. Brown was read his Miranda Rights, with him stating he didn’t understand his rights because he “didn’t commit a crime.” The deputy then ordered Brown to exit the apartment, however he continued to refuse.

Brown began screaming at the woman in the apartment. Brown then advised officers to just bust in the door if they had to and attempted to shut the door, which was stopped by officers, and attempts to arrest Brown were made. Brown kept trying to hold the door closed.

Officers were able to enter the apartment and Brown continued resisting arrest. During the scuffle, Brown attempted to gain control of one of the officers’ duty weapons.

Orders to stop resisting were made numerous times. Brown ultimately was arrested and placed in the back of a sheriff’s patrol car. Brown continued to exhibit violent and turbulent behavior by striking the patrol car windows with his head and feet.

During the transport to the Washington County Jail, deputies had to stop the car to get Brown back upright from where he was laying down in the seat, stating he couldn’t breathe. Brown said derogatory words to the deputy and spit in his face.

Once at the jail, Brown was advised by the jail staff of the penalty for illegal conveyance into the jail. Later Brown was observed on video footage pulling something from his rectum, and when confronted Brown surrendered one buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film 8mg / 2mg. Brown later advised he had one buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film 8mg / 2mg up his rectum.

Ryan Anthony Brown, 33, was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated robbery, harassment by inmate and illegal conveyance of drugs. Brown appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on Thursday and was being held without bond.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Timothy Raye Richards, 51, of Little Hocking, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Rachel Christine Wray, 48, of Little Hocking, was arrested for violating protection order, Hocking County charges.

¯ Dustin Bradley Whipkey, 36, of Lowell, was arrested for violating a protection order, a misdemeanor.

¯ Latoya Ann Reynolds, 46, of Wins ton Salem, N.C., was arrested for possession of drugs, a felony.

¯ Ryan Anthony Brown, 33, of Belpre, was arrested for two counts of aggravated robbery, illegal conveyance of drugs, harassment by inmate, all felonies; and domestic violence and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

¯ Alexander Ray Rector, 19, of Parkersburg, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ James Robert McKinney, 35, of Belpre, was arrested for parole violation, a felony.

Vienna Police

VIENNA — The Vienna Police Department released the following reports June 8:

June 4

∫ Michelle L. Satterfield of Vienna was arrested on a charge of petit larceny.

∫ Joshua A. Eggleston of Ripley was arrested on charges of withholding information and public intoxication.

∫ Chasady L. Jackson of Vienna was arrested on a charge of child neglect.

June 5

∫ Stone C. Emerick of Parkersburg was arrested on a charge of burglary.

∫ Thomas C. Kaptis of Vienna was arrested on warrants for fraudulent use of an access device.

∫ Timothy N. McKinley of Belpre was arrested on warrants for petit larceny and destruction of property.

June 6

∫ Dakota L. Riel of Parkersburg was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant.

∫ Carl R. Sprout of Parkersburg was arrested on charges of second-offense shoplifting, obstruction and fugitive from justice.

June 7

∫ Levi S. Jarvis of Belpre was arrested on a warrant for first-degree robbery.

∫ Michael A. McHenry II of Parkersburg was arrested on charges of no or expired motor vehicle inspection, driving on a suspended license, defective equipment and violation of a domestic order.
