Reports/Washington County

¯ A deputy was dispatched Sunday to the 4000 block of Ohio 339, Barlow Township, regarding a possible impaired driver. Contact was made with the driver while the passenger, Cory Saunders, exited the vehicle and entered the store.

Saunders then provided his information to the deputy for a check through dispatch. Saunders then fled the parking lot. An active warrant out of Morgan County was found on file for Saunders.

An extensive search led to the arrest of Cory William Saunders, 30, of 5400 North State Route 669 NW, McConnelsville, on a charge of obstructing official business and the active warrant.

¯ A deputy made contact with Kristin K. McCartney on Sunday regarding a reported domestic incident from 2020. McCartney admitted to striking her ex-husband, and reported the two were arguing all day.

McCartney, of Parkersburg, will be issued a summons through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of domestic violence.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Monday into a drive off of 21 gallons of gas from Reno Par Mar. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Tuesday into a burglary at 133 Turkeyhen Road, Warren Township. Numerous items of value were removed from the residence. This case remains under investigation.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Raymond Joseph David Depriest, 31, of Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Abdallah Suleiman, 30, of Columbus, was arrested for criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

¯ Alexander Gray Cooley, 22, of Harper Woods, Mich., was arrested for fugitive from justice, a felony.

¯ David Garrell Sobieski, 38, of Long Bottom, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Tyrece Taveil Thompson, 34, of Akron, was arrested for probation violation, a felony

Reports/Ohio State Highway Patrol

¯ Aug. 11 – Rocky V. Turner, 46, of 85 Linden Court, Vincent, and Dakota Allen Maston, 22, of 28 Needham Drive, Belpre, were stopped southbound on Ohio 339 in Dunham Township.

Sophie Marie Cochran, 16, of 2050 Braun Road, Belpre, failed to stop her 2013 Buick Verano, striking Maston’s 2012 Ford F-150. Maston was pushed into Turner’s 2014 Toyota Tundra.

Maston was taken by Barlow EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital, Belpre, with suspected serious injuries. Cochran was cited for not stopping with an assured clear distance ahead.

¯ Aug. 12 – Tamara Sue Nichols, 60, of 7866 State Route 550, Vincent, was eastbound on Ohio 618 in Belpre Township. Trey Robert Rice, 24, of 5999 N. Torch Road, Little Hocking, was westbound on Ohio 618. Rice’s 2005 Yamaha RZ350N went left of center and struck Nichols’ 2000 Toyota Avalon. Rice was cited for not driving on the right side of the roadway.

¯ Aug. 12 – Khyleigh Danielle Scott, 18, of 4315 Doctor Samuel Muss Road, Waldorf, Md., was westbound on County Road 3 in Dunham Township. Her 2006 Ford Freestyle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned. She was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital-Belpre with suspected minor injuries. She was cited for not driving within a single lane of traffic.

¯ Aug. 13 – Nicholas Kallas Fink, 30, of 2710 Sixth St., Cuyahoga Falls, was northbound on Interstate 77 in Aurelius Township. His 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class went off the left side of the roadway and struck a concrete bridge rail. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.

¯ Aug. 14 – Donald Jay Barnes, 50, of 1 S. Main St., Killbuck, was traveling northbound on I-77 in Muskingum Township when his 2009 Chevrolet Express veered off the left side of the roadway. He struck a guardrail before overturning. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.

¯ Aug. 16 – Mark David Roberts, 70, of 33524 Neff Ridge Road, Wingett Run, was northbound on Township Road 45 in Lawrence Township. Donavon Michael Boley, 24, of 2884 Milltown Road, Reno, was southbound on Township Road 45 in his 1978 Ford Ranger. Boley failed to yield half of the roadway, striking Roberts’ 2008 Honda Accord. Boley was cited for not driving on the right side of the roadway.

¯ Aug. 16 – Terrance Lee Greathouse, 59, of 876 Luke Chute Road, Waterford, was southbound on Township Road 649 in Warren Township. His 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. He then fled the scene on foot. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.

¯ Aug. 17 – Deborah L. Decker, 49, of 950 Bethel Road, Marietta, was northbound on Township Road 125 in Warren Township. Kevin L. Wellspring, 55, of Coffman Road, Marietta, was southbound on Township Road 125 on a 2019 John Deere tractor and boom mower owned by Warren Township. Decker’s 2004 Jeep Liberty traveled to the left side of the roadway and struck the tractor. Decker was cited for not giving half of the roadway, while Wellspring was cause coded for being in the middle of the roadway without signs posted. No roadway signs were posted for mowing for the township and road side work.

¯ Aug. 17 – Curtis M. Benson, 29, of 395 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, was westbound on Ohio 550 in Marietta Township when his 2002 Buick Park Avenue left the roadway to the left, striking a ditch, mailbox and tree. He was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it. Alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash.

¯ Aug. 18 – Saeba J. Barcley-Greene, 22, of 712 Lily Lane, Parkersburg, was southbound on County Road 2 in Dunham Township. Her 2014 Ford Focus went left of center, off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. She was cited for operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control of it.

¯ Aug. 18 – Richard D. Sparrow, 65, of 3517 Kent Road, Stow, was southbound on I-77 in Muskingum Township. His 2014 Infiniti Q50 hydroplaned off the left side of the roadway, into the depressed median, after braking for another vehicle. Sparrow’s vehicle then struck a drainage grate before coming to final rest. The other vehicle was in traffic at the time and was not involved in the crash. No citations were issued.
