Floyd Tome Jr.
Floyd Tome Jr., 77, of Marietta, Ohio passed away October 5, 2019 at the Arbors at Marietta.
He was a first-generation US – born citizen born on February 8, 1942, in Passaic, New Jersey, a son of the late Floyd and Mary Agnolet Tome.
Floyd graduated from Bordentown Military Institute in 1959 and was also a graduate of Marietta College. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a self-employed contractor having owned and operated Floyd Tome G.S. & R./Gutter Pro in Marietta. Floyd was gifted with many technical and mechanical skills and loved fixing items that had broken. He enjoyed visiting neighbors and elderly customers and was always willing to lend a helping hand to any one in need. He had a passion for food and loved to cook. Floyd was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption.
Floyd is survived by one daughter, Kathrine Cline (David), of Mineral Wells, WV; two sons Peter Tome (Maggie) of Marietta, Ohio, and Richard Tome (Sarah) of Buchtel, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley), Wade, Emily, Joseph, and Lucas; six great grandchildren, Taylor, Jordyn, Alexis, Aiden, Jackson, and Levi; one sister, Maria Tome of Ramsey, NJ, and one brother Denis Tome (Doreen) of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; two uncles, John Agnolet and Richard Agnolet (Rose); many cousins; two nephews, Harrison and Pierce Tome and a niece Shannon Olson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew Shane Davis.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, Belpre is assisting the family.
