Cynthia ‘Cissy’ Henry

Cynthia “Cissy” Henry, 48, of Devola, OH, passed peacefully away at her home on December 2, 2019 after a courageous battle with Breast Cancer.

Cissy was born on December 30, 1970 to Patrick and the late Donna Riley Amrine in Marietta, OH. After graduating from Marietta High School in 1989 she worked in various jobs in the food industry before starting her own catering business in 2002 with her husband John. Cissy loved all the people she has met through her love of catering. Her business was her labor of love.

Cissy married her high school sweetheart, John Henry, on October 18, 1991. They have two precious dogs Daisy and Sophie. Aside from cooking, she enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family. She always went above and beyond to help others. Throughout her battle with breast cancer she remained positive and upbeat.

Cissy is survived by her husband John, father Pat Amrine Sr., mother-in-law Carol Henry, brothers Pat Amrine Jr. (Mindy), Geoff Amrine (Melissa), Andy Amrine (Sherry), sisters Heidi Jackson (Rob), and Bethany Hinton (Matt). She is also survived by her brother-in-law Mike Henry (Diane) and sister-in-law Kim Jones (Ron). Cissy loved to spend time with all of her nieces and nephews and loved watching them grow up. Cissy is survived by a large extended family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother Donna, father-in-law John Henry, stepmother Susie Amrine, her grandparents Frank and Virginia Amrine and Walter and Betty Riley; aunts Sandy Mayer, Missy Hayes, and Karen Anderson; uncles John Amrine, Mike Hayes, and Richard “Moose” Mayer; and cousin Stu Mayer. Her beloved black lab, Josey, was waiting to meet to her in heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta with Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
