Bill C. Low
Bill C. Low, 85, of Marietta, OH passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on November 10, 1934 in Rockport, WV to the late Mycajah McFarlin and Lelia Marie Anderson Low.
Bill worked for American Viscose Corporation and then for Universal Glass. He and his wife, Irene, lived in Newport from 1957-1999, during which time he was employed by Union Carbide Corporation and did two years of military service where he was assigned to duty as a military policeman. From 1999 to present they have lived in Marietta. Bill had also worked as a maintenance mechanic engineer at O.S.I. in Sistersville, WV. He had been an instructor at the Washington County Career Center and served as a youth counselor for over 25 years. He was a member of Newport United Methodist Church and had served as trustee and lay speaker. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He married the love of his life, Irene G. (Thompson) Low and they were happily married for 65 years. Along with his wife, he is survived by their three children, James Lee Low (Jackie) of Beaver, PA, Lisa Ann Tuttle (Alan) of Niceville, FL and Julie Lynn Walker (Brian) of Marietta, OH; seven grandchildren, Samuel, Hope, Hannah, Olivia Tuttle, Matthew and Leslie Rankin, Briana Walker; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, E. Lenora Low, Flossie M. Thompson, Daisy Evelyn Low, Thelma G. Lockhart, Lettie Ruth Low, Lucy Marie Low and Sarah E. Low.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 PM – 2 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta with a funeral service to begin at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
