Geraldine “Gerry” Lewis

Geraldine “Gerry” Lewis, of Deerfield Beach, Fl., passed away at 1:45 a.m. on July 14, 2020, at Holy Cross Hospice in Fort Lauderdale. She was 94 years old.

Gerry was born on May 26, 1926, in Wood County W.Va. to Alice and James A. Snider.

She married Virgil J Lewis on May 26,1946, and raised six children together. She worked at the Fenton Art Glass gift shop from 1964-1985 in Williamstown, WVa before relocating to Kissimmee, Fl to manage the Fenton Outlet Shop. She worked managing various gift shops in the area until her retirement at age 78.

Gerry was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where she had been a deacon, sang in the choir, greeted guests, and volunteered at the church thrift shop. One of her fondest memories was making the journey to Israel twice with Virgil and her church family.

Gerry was active at her Senior Living Center, often running the bingo games, exercise classes and crafts, when requested. She had many friends who enjoyed her sharp wit and gift of storytelling.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel and Ronald Lewis; three daughters, Terry Brown, Lesa Wilson and Cathy (Kent) Seevers; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, her daughter, Sharon, and her four brothers, Johnny, Harry, James and Robert.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be scheduled at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Holy Cross Hospice, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
