Carol Marie Okey Mincks

Carol Marie Okey Mincks, 85, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Harmar Place in Marietta after continuing health struggles. She was born on May 9, 1938, in Lansing, Michigan, daughter of Asher and Helen Metz Okey. The family later moved to Coal Run, Ohio when she was seven years old and was raised on the family farm. Carol graduated from Beverly High School in 1956, was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening her flowers and feeding her feathered friends. She was also a member of the Sixth and Washington St. Church of Christ in Marietta. On February 2, 1957 she married Walter L. Mincks who survives. Also surviving is a son, Daniel Mincks and his wife Kathy of Marietta and a daughter, Diana Thomas (Roby) of Pounding Mill, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jennifer Carpenter of Lowell, Scott Mincks of New Albany, Ohio, Aaron Dunbar of Lowell and Matthew Dunbar of Memphis, Tenn; three great grandchildren and a sister Frances (Okey) Wright, of Beverly and sister-in-law Naomi Okey, of Coal Run. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Raymond Okey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evang. Roger Rush officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
