Thanks to everyone for fair
As the Washington County Fair winds up, now is a good time to think about all the work that went into putting such an event together.
A round of applause should go to the Washington County Fair board members and officers for putting in the work that goes into planning the event, especially in light of COVID-19 precautions. All one has to do is look at the committee listing on their website to see the people and all the different facets that go into putting the fair on every year — from the awards, to the parade, to the gates and parking.
Let’s not forget the 4-H club and FFA members who have put in all that hard work with raising their animals! Not only did these young people have to deal with the topsy-turvy world of the last year and how it affected them at school, they also had to handle animal care on top of it. They all deserve a round of applause for all of their work and dedication. They are growing skills that will take them far into the future. We are all proud of you.
The dedicated parents and volunteers behind the scenes who also helped with projects, volunteering at the junior fair building with different 4-H activities, helped with judging or who just drove their kids back and forth for all the days of the fair — give yourselves a round of applause as well.
Now, as the livestock sale has wrapped up and a full fair year winds down, let’s all be thankful that at least one good thing happened in 2021– and look forward to another great fair next year.
