Thanks to Pine Tree Towing and Recovery

This letter is to express heartfelt gratitude to Pine Tree Towing and Recovery for their very generous help in making this year’s Harmar Days Street Festival a success. This is the third year that the event has hosted a whistle blow utilizing steam from my 1922 Minneapolis steam traction engine. Moving the engine from my home to the end of Maple Street near the railroad bridge is no small feat. When I approached Ron Myers about the possibility of his company’s moving the engine, he assured me they had the capacity to move the 12-ton entity. I was hoping to negotiate a lower than normal fee for the haul as The Historic Harmar Bridge Company operates on a limited budget. In previous years both I and another gentleman have helped to cover the cost. Imagine my surprise when, after assuring Myers that I made no money on the enterprise, he said, “We’ll move it with no charge.”!

Working with Myers was an absolute pleasure. His company did what they said they would do at exactly the time they said they would do it. His truck driver was friendly, courteous, exceptionally capable, and demonstrated great care in loading, securing, and unloading the engine both to the event and on the return home.

I highly recommend Pine Tree Towing and Recovery for any moving challenge, large or small. Again, a big thank you from me and on behalf of The Historic Harmar Bridge Company.
