Zonta Club says thanks for a successful event

The Zonta Club of Mid-Ohio Valley’s first annual Delicates for Dignity event is in the books. The event’s purpose was to raise funds, donations, and awareness to the need of feminine products and undergarments for those suffering hardships. Two large bins of products, as well as financial donations, can now be distributed to pantries and shelters in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

The club is delighted by the participation of local residents. In addition to the donations of money and products, a contest of “altered bra art” was held where participants each decorated a bra according to their theme of choice, and votes were cast to determine the top three favorites. Our three winners were generous enough to donate their cash prizes back to the club to further the project’s reach. Indeed, from the First Friday “Bra Pong” players to Saturday’s luncheon attendees, a great time was had by all.

We would like to sincerely thank our sponsors who made the project possible: The Adelphia, Advantage Real Estate, American Flags & Poles, Baker & Baker, Dad’s Primitive Workshop, Lowell Women of the Moose, Nelli Millard Fashion House, OYO, and Wit & Whimsy.

Zonta Club of Mid-Ohio Valley is the local chapter of Zonta International, a service club consisting of professionals, both women and men, devoted to the advancement and empowerment of women and girls on a local, national, and international level.
