Mayor-Elect Schlicher says thanks to all for support
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the voters that elected me Mayor of the city of Marietta. I thank my campaign team and volunteers that contributed their time and energy. I also want to thank my opponents Mayor Joe Matthews and Mr. Harley Noland for keeping their campaigns positive. I also appreciate all the congratulatory messages I have received.
As I prepare to leave my position as President of Marietta City Council, I want to thank our current and past city council members I have had the privilege to work with. I have been so proud to work with these dedicated and hard-working individuals that make the best decisions they can on behalf of our residents we serve and represent. I look forward to working with the 2020-2021 city council to make the changes Marietta needs.
I will take the oath of office on Jan. 1, 2020 and will always strive to represent our city and citizens and administer the operations of our city with professionalism and excellence. My door will always be open to all, and I am excited to get started in the new year as your mayor.
