Youth mentoring program thanks those who support the children of the MOV

Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring Services would like to thank businesses, groups and individuals, who through their generosity helped to make possible the annual Christmas party for at-risk youth and their families who are part of our mentoring services.

Thank you to Juanita Lanigan and Smitty’s Pizza for their continuous generosity and community support. They have provided pizza for this annual event for the past six years. Thanks to the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Marietta for allowing us to use their Fellowship Hall for the gathering. Prudence Burghardt, Flora and Bijou from Peddler of Dreams Art Space for Children helped each child create a Christmas ornament to take home.

Thank you to the following for their donations which made it possible for each child to go home with a gift: The Washington County Democratic Women’s Club, Marlene Delaney, Carol McKitrick, Flo Beidler, Molly Varner, and Sue Sipe.

Finally, thanks to Santa and his helpers for making the event fun and festive: Cindy Burton, Bill and Sharon Farnsworth, Katie McGlynn, Cheryl Mellan, Wendy O’Brien, Nina Redd and Jeff Walker, and teen mentors, Maddie Scharff, Ty Stanley and Ana Stoudt who attended with their elementary school “Littles”.
