Support Walk to End Alzheimer’s – MOV
The 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Mid-Ohio Valley is months away, but the planning already has begun and we invite anyone who’d like to help us in our fight against Alzheimer’s Disease to join us!
We are seeking volunteers to help our planning committee which works in the months leading up to the walk, organizing teams and working with sponsors and others to prepare for the main event. This year’s walk is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19. The walk will start in Tomlinson Park in Williamstown and will once again extend over the Williamstown Bridge to Marietta.
Anyone who’d like to volunteer to help with planning the walk – or volunteer on walk day – can sign up in one of two locations:
¯ Feb. 7, during downtown Marietta’s First Friday event. We will be at Jeremiah’s Coffee House, 175 Front St., from 5 to 9 p.m.
¯ Feb. 13, at the Alzheimer’s Association office at 1218 Market St. in Parkersburg, anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Worldwide, 50 million people are living with Alzheimer’s. In the United States alone, more than 5 million are living with the disease and another 16 million are acting as caregivers. The Mid-Ohio Valley walk planning committee welcomes anyone interested in joining our fight to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
