White will continue to work for taxpayers
I first met David White when he took our family portrait in 1992. I was impressed with the quality of his work, and the methodical way he went about his business. He has continued to take our family photos ever since.
My husband and I got to know David much better when he entered the political fray, running successfully for Marietta City Council in the first ward. David served as chairman of the Streets Committee, but was also indispensable to helping the city save taxpayers enormous sums on its health premiums, replacing the deteriorating Mound Cemetery fence, and finding a much more cost effective solution to the lingering issue of the Municipal Court. David was then, as now, a fiscal conservative, who was willing to make tough choices in order to do the right thing. David also cast key votes to consolidate departments in the city to gain efficiencies. He has continued to pursue better deals for taxpayers at the county level as well, achieving savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars, through the reorganization of departments. The role at the county level is more administrative, but he has worked capably with several colleagues as commissioner. I know my husband considered David a valuable ally in stopping Governor Kasich’s attempts to raise the severance tax on royalty owners in Southeast Ohio.
I’ve never run for office, but I’m married to someone who’s run seven times and won each time. It’s not easy being the wife of a candidate, but David is particularly blessed to have a wonderful wife in Anita. That pick showed David’s excellent judgment; and she has assisted David in their family business (New Creations Studio), and in raising their sons.
David’s decisions are governed by his strong faith and impeccable honesty. Those traits are not often associated with those in political office, but it’s certainly true of David. I hope you will join me in voting on or before March 17 to reelect David White as our Washington County Commissioner.
