COVID-19 is not gone; remain vigilant
The Coronavirus is not gone! Scientists and the medical professionals stand firm on the facts that we have no vaccine, no effective treatment, highly contagious, deadly and it is still here. The statistics tell us nearly 3 million people in the United States have COVID-19 and over 126,000 Americans have died from the Coronavirus. New confirmed cases of the virus are going up nationwide by 56,000 a day. Does that sound like it is gone?
COVID-19 is going to be in the United States for years killing Americans if we do not have a national plan and leader. Each governor is trying to do what he/she thinks is right for the people in their state but it is difficult since we have two different coronavirus camps, the president and vice president that say it is almost gone, and the medical/scientific experts who say that our COVID-19 cases are on the rise. We need a Coronavirus leader that brings our 50 states together under one plan and all Americans get on board. It is we, not me that is needed to save our people from the grips of this pandemic.
Around March 26/27, the United States and the European Union recorded the same number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases, about 25,000. Since that time, the European union has gone down to 5,000 new cases a day and the United States has gone up to 50,000 new cases a day. Why? They have the same tools available that we do, such as social distancing, wearing masks, cleaning and sanitizing, meeting in small groups, and caring about one’s friends, family and neighbors. Are they using their tools more consistently than we are? Each European country has a national leader who directs a consistent plan for its citizens. Is that what helped?
We the people of the United States can save our union and the people. This virus is not gone and can only be stopped if each of us makes that happen. It will not miraculously disappear. It will take work, sacrifice and caring for our fellow Americans. Mask up Mid-Ohio Valley and lets get to work.
