VFW looking to grow

More than one and a half million people are members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Auxiliary. The members at the Ronnie W Davis Memorial VFW Post 5108 in Marietta are looking to increase their membership.

The VFW is a nonprofit veterans service organization advocating for veterans to ensure veterans are respected for their service, receive earned entitlements, and are recognized for their and their loved ones sacrifices. Last year, nationally the VFW Auxiliary provided 6.2 million dollars in assistance to veterans, active-duty military, and their families.

In order to join the VFW a valid DD214 is needed accompanying an application. In order to join the Auxiliary a person must be a US citizen, at least 16 years old and have a valid DD214 from a husband or wife, grandfather/grandmother, son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, or sister/brother. Dues are minimal and vary from Post to Post.

We encourage potential members to stop by our Post at 319 Pike Street to pick up an application.
