Ron Wesel is running as a candidate for City Council representing the 4th Ward of the City of Marietta.

My name is Stephan McCarthy, and I am a lifelong resident of the City of Marietta, 4th Ward, and I believe that Ron is the best candidate for our Ward as I have known him most of my life.

Ron grew up working at the family business, Marietta Ignition, here in Marietta, from a very early age.

There he developed a strong work ethic and the ability to work with the public to help them with solving the myriad of problems they may have had with their vehicles, farm equipment, engines and other mechanical issues. That type of service experience will serve him well in the position of your council representative.

Growing up, Ron was a Boy Scout and achieved the highest award in Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout. After graduating from Marietta High School, Ron went to college at Bowling Green State University, graduating in 1982 with a degree in business administration.

Ron then returned to Marietta and Marietta Ignition. He left Marietta Ignition in 2006 to take a position at Mondo Polymer Technologies. As of 12/31/2024 Ron is retired and so is now ready, willing and able to serve you as your council representative.

Over the years, Ron has served the Marietta community as a member of the Marietta Chamber of Commerce where he was vice chairman and chairman of the board of directors. Ron was a member of the first class of the Marietta Chamber’s Telesis training program.

He has also been an active and charter member of the Marietta Morning Rotary where he has served a number of offices including its president. He has served as a member and past president of what was known as The Marietta Area Merchants Association that has morphed into what is now called Marietta Main Street.

Ron has been a leader in different capacities at his church, The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Assumption as well as Saint Mary School. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Peoples Bank Theater.

With all of his education, training and devotion to our community demonstrated above, I believe you will agree that Ron Wesel is the person for the job. He is ready, willing and able to listen to the concerns of the citizens of Marietta carefully and work hard to do what is best for our great community.
