Cold Nights, Warm Hearts

The Washington County Homeless Project wishes to thank the many Community Members who came to our Community Night at Wendy’s on Muskingum on December 2nd. As winter appears to have arrived early in the City of Marietta, it is more important than ever that those who have the means to do so, give help. Those among us who live every day, and night without shelter desperately need the Care and Compassion of those who enjoy a warm home, adequate food and a place to sleep at night.

The Warming Center/Drop-in Center located at 274 Front Street is open six days a week to provide a warm meal, a hot shower, clean clothes and yes, counseling and referral services to begin the challenging task of “getting off the streets”. No one makes their way back from homelessness alone… it does take a village, a city, a county, a state and a nation to lift up those who are often forgotten.

During this Holiday Season when Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward All are celebrated, what better way to observe the Season than by making a monetary donation to a local non-profit, the Washington County Homeless Project. Checks may be mailed to WCHP P.O. Box 203 Marietta, Ohio 45750. Many thanks to the members of the Community who attended and supported us on Dec. 2nd and to the many volunteers who continue to provide meals, clothing and to the service agencies who partner with the Drop-in Center every week. Folks are being given what they need to come back from Homelessness in the form of treatment, housing and jobs but it all begins with a hot meal, a hot shower and a warm smile that says “we have your back.” Amen.

Starting at $2.99/week.
