Marietta Times readers can vote on their choice for top local story of the year online at www.mariettatimes.com. Ten stories selected by Times staff are included as choices for the poll question, which will remain online for the next week. A special section on the top stories will run in The Marietta Times at the end of the month.
Public meeting to discuss intersection
A public meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday to provide information about the proposed $3.26 million project to improve traffic and pedestrian safety at the Pike, Greene and Seventh street intersection in Marietta. City engineer Joe Tucker said the meeting is being scheduled to answer any questions citizens may have about the project. The session will begin at 6 p.m. in the Graham Auditorium in Washington State Community College's Arts and Sciences Building.
Piano trio concert will be at The Castle
The Holiday Salon Series Trillium Piano Trio Concert "Bright Baroque" will be presented from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 23 at The Castle in Marietta. For reservations, call 373-4180. Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults, $12.50 for members, and $10 for students. Conversations about the composers and their music as well as refreshments are included.
Space available for exhibitors at show
The 22nd annual Teddy Bear & Doll Show & Sale has space available for exhibitors.
Exhibitors include original artists of bears and dolls, collectors interested in selling and other merchants who specialize in accessories for teddy bears and dolls. Tables are $35 each.

Oak Grove fire plans Santa Run Sunday
The Oak Grove Fire Department will hold its Santa Run starting at 1 p.m. Sunday. Santa will go through the streets of Oak Grove and visit children who come outside their homes to meet him.
Free meal, clothing giveaway Saturday
A free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta. The event is held the third Saturday every month.
