Willie C. Hanger, 90, of Vincent, Ohio died Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2012) at his residence. He was born in Decatur, Ohio, a son of the late Richard and Emma (Reip) Hanger.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was a member of the Barlow Presbyterian Church. He was a Diary Farmer and loved his animals. He was on the Washington County Farmers Mutual Insurance Board, a chapter member of Warren High School FFA and he was a director of Ohio C.O.B. A..
He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Irma (Berry) Hanger; two sons, Marvin C. Hanger and Scott B. Hanger (Tammy) all of Vincent, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon Richards (Jerry) of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Janet Fairchild (Phillip) of New Orleans; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Grover Hanger of Newark, Ohio.
In addition to is parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hanger and a sister, Luverna Harstine.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Rick Hastings officiating. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
