David Paul Henthorn, 71, of Marietta, passed away Saturday (March 30, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
David was born Saturday, Feb. 14, 1942, in Marietta, to the late Earl William and Elizabeth Adaline Strauss Henthorn. He worked at Richardson Printing as a pressman, enjoyed life, gardening, family and friends. David was a member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Garden Tractor Pullers Association and loved collecting anything John Deere related. He attended Little Muskingum Congregational Church when his health allowed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy McGregor Henthorn, whom he married March 1, 1964 in Moss Run; daughters, Elizabeth Rinard and Jennifer Henthorn, both of Marietta; son, Jeffrey Henthorn (Deneen) of Fleming; granddaughter, Courtney Templeton (Jarrod); great-grandson, Garrett Templeton; brothers, Richard (Bev), Gary (Judy) and Donald (Jeannie) Henthorn; sisters, Shirley Kirkbride (Eugene), and Barbara Bohlen (Ronnie); sister-in-law, Martha Theobald; stepmother, Garnet Henthorn; and mother-in-law, Marie McGregor; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday (April 3, 2013) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Richard Saltzwedel officiating. Burial to follow in Moss Run Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
