Helen I. Davis, 95, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Sunday (May 19, 2013) at Genesis Parkersburg Care Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1918, in Washington County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Frances Waterman Wittekind.
She was a graduate of Marietta High School and a graduate of the Camden Clark School Of Nursing, class of 1940, where she received her registered nurse's degree. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and was a member of the Lynn Street Church Of Christ.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Deanna Pifer (Lewis) of Vienna and Dixie Twyman of Williamstown. Two sons, Edwin E. Davis II (Leasa) and Charles H. Davis (Lynn) all of Parkersburg. One son-in-law, Bob Franklin of Parkersburg. Nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Davis, one daughter, Della Franklin, one granddaughter, Serena Davis and a sister, Rosabell Wynn Johnson.
Funeral services for Helen will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday (May 22) at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna with Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating; burial will follow at Gravel Bank Cemetery; visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
