Carl Rymer Stanley, 81, of Parkersburg, passed away (Nov. 4, 2013) in Parkersburg, W. Va.
He was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Carl B. and Elizabeth Stribling Stanley.
Carl had proudly served his country in the Navy for four years as an aircraft engine mechanic and was awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon. He retired from Kaiser/Ravenswood Aluminum with 31 years of service to the company. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and time with family.
Surviving are his wife, Eva Phillips Stanley; children, Michael P. Stanley (Jan) of Atlanta, Ga., Kathy L. Taylor of Belpre, Ronald E. Stanley (Jackie) of Boaz, W.Va., Cindy A. Badgley (Sam) of Williamstown; grandchildren, Stephanie Goforth (Bryan), Samantha Badgley Schweitzer (Karl), Zachary Badgley, Kayla Stanley, Jay Shutts, Heather Shutts; great-grandchildren, Skyla Bartlett, Alora Stull, Gabriel Stull, Skyler Shutts, and Abigail Goforth.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Kinney and Betty Conger; and son-in-law, Chris Taylor.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Eddy Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
