Since 2009, when the Friends of the Museums assumed operation of the Campus Martius and Ohio River Museums, each year has been more successful than the previous. Attendance at Campus Martius and the Ohio River Museums is up once again and numbers continue to climb. The Friends have had a busy but exciting year with many new improvements. A thriving Inland Waterways Festival kicked off the 2013-14 fiscal year with attendance of 2,000+ visitors. Planning has begun for the 2015 festival with the addition of more activities and entertainment for all ages. After undergoing eight months of exterior restoration, the W.P. Snyder Jr. returned to her resting place at the Ohio River Museum and continues to draw crowds! The replacement of the Campus Martius Museum wall along Washington Street has become a statement piece for the museum complex. After falling in 2011, the Ohio History Connection worked diligently on a new design. Once funding was secured, work began, and now the wall stands to welcome visitors to Marietta.
