tiredofit, i think it is great that you and others provide your sustenance where you can. when i was in my teens, we raised several head of beef cows and planted a small garden. i spent many days picking up rocks for my dads garden. speaking of which..seems like a day spent in the hot sun of the south for a few youngsters would make them think twice about some of the shenanigans they get away with in todays schools.
fred..i imagine that the introduction of white men to the indians would have created a decline in theri and possibly our population due to diseases and lack of immunity. i read about a family discovered in the Siberean Forest. their location and discovery was kept secret in an attempt to allow them privacy. however, after many visits by their new found friends, they succumbed to the viruses unwittenly delivered during those visits. very sad.
gentlemen and any ladies...upon a little further research...namely snopes..it appears that it is true about Aldi's. however, the horsemeat was found initially to be supplied to the stores in the U.K. as well as suspected in several other eurpoean countries. it also appears that none of the meat products supposedly made it to the U.S. stores. i found the following in an article on foodsafety news website. "A third business has met all the statutory and regulatory requirements to require USDA to provide inspection services when it begins processing horsemeat for human consumption. About 175,000 horses from the United States are exported for slaughter each year to Canada and Mexico. New USDA-inspected horse-slaughter facilities in the U.S. would export horsemeat for human consumption to areas of the world where there is a demand, mainly Europe and Asia." i rememer seeing a pro-meat t-shirt that touted the phrase "People for Eating Tasty Animals" (PETA). side note...fo
The Donner Party's choice of cuisine was a bit worse!
I guess its a good thing I raise my own chickens and buy beef from a friend, God only knows what you are getting from imported beef etc.
Didn't the last "horsemeat" rumor involve Olive Garden spaghetti-sauce?
The Cheyenne Indians ate both horses and dogs and they survived until the whites came to kill them off ...

Oneill, sounds a lot like somemore of Faux news facts !
@Tired - So answer the question!
@LTS - Think that's bad. Some on the faaarrr right are putting it out that Obama created the snowstorm to "punish" all you good Southern Christians! Personally, I like the one about how vapor trails left by jets contain secret chemical ingredients that kill old people like me!
No, most don't !
SEE WHAT I MEAN? lol
@Tired - Don't flatter yourself! You are merely one symptom of a much greater problem! Do you ever read your own posts? BTW - And WHAT again is your definition of a "Socialist agenda"?
LTS as you know, dogs, cats horses etc are regular meals in a lot of places. I cannot see munching on ole shep however, just seems wrong cannot explain just why.
@LTS - Say WHAT?????? Lovey, if I recall, the Pure Food & Drug Act is still in effect ... It was enacted by a Republican named Teddy Roosevelt who called himself a "progressive"!
LTS pay no attention to fred, he has been called out for his obsession as of late with trying to start a fight with me. It is nibbling his underpants that I wont fight with him I guess. ;)
LTS that's wild, but you have ask, why are we so freaked out about eating horse meat? What makes a cow table fare but a horse somehow is forbidden. I cannot say I have ever eaten it but I have eaten lots of other four leg critters other than beef.
@Bob - Yes, and when someone calls them out for it, they start whining about how "mean" someone is ... If some of these folks want to see the face of hate, they might look in the mirror or review their daily diatribes about Obama and anyone left of Attila-the-Hun! ... Not talking about Ask, LTS, or even the Greek. I'm talking about Tired and his/her playmates who dominate the News/Sentinel Forums ...
fred...make no mistake i'll talk with you about anything. i don't have a bunker...but it may not be a bad idea. speaking of bad idea. a friend, black liberal, mentioned in passing two days ago that Aldi's store came out and admitted to selling horse meat in their meat containing products like lasagna...etc. i have not verified so don't hold it against me if it is wrong. blame a liberal democrat.
