Belpre 61, Eastern 53

REEDSVILLE — Connor Baker led all scorers with 20 points as Belpre claimed a 61-53 victory over Eastern Friday night.

The visiting Golden Eagles also got 17 points from Logan Adams and eight apiece from Evan Wells and Makiah Merritt. Wells grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds followed by nine from Merritt and eight from Nick Godfrey.

Teays Valley Christian 92, Wood County

Christian 54

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — Teays Valley Christian couldn’t be stopped Friday night.

The Lions rolled to a 92-54 victory over Wood County Christian to improve to 11-1. The Wildcats fell to 3-10.

Andrew Breeding led all scorers with 26 points. He was complemented by Brandon Cook’s 18, Cole Young’s 14 and Richards Fu’s 12.

Wood County Christian, which shot 35% (17 for 49) from the floor, got a team-high 18 points from Garrett Napier. Tucker Dougherty double-doubled with 10 points and 11 rebounds while Ryder Davis added 10 points.

Parkersburg Catholic 65, Ravenswood 46

RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. — Patrick Copen poured in a game-high 22 points and had 10 rebounds to help Parkersburg Catholic pull away early from Ravenswood for a 65-46 win Friday.

The Crusaders, now 5-0, also got 17 points from Jeb Boice and 13 more from Xavier Collie. Jalen Brunny grabbed 11 boards.

The Red Devils (3-3) were led by Shawn Banks’ 12 points. Jaycob Creel chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds.

Catholic jumped out to a 13-4 first quarter lead and stretched it to 31-13 by halftime.

South Charleston 67, Parkersburg South 64 (OT)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Quay Sutton scored a game-high 27 points and made the go-ahead free-throws in the final second of overtime as South Charleston defeated Parkersburg South 67-64 Friday night.

Sutton’s two freebies with 5.4 seconds left in OT put SCHS up 66-64. South turned it over on its ensuing possession to fall to 4-2 on the season.

Dylan Day led the Patriots with 13 points followed by Malaki Sylvia’s 12 points and six rebounds. Ashton Mooney added eight points while Cameron Marks chipped in seven points, four assists and two steals.

For the Black Eagles (3-2), Harold Pannell complemented Sutton with 13 points while Bradley Jones tallied nine and Darius Dawson netted eight.

South led 45-38 after three quarters, but South Charleston outscored the Patriots 17-10 in the fourth to force overtime.

Wood County

Christian 45, Teays Valley Christian 29

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — After the game’s first 10 points, Wood County Christian never looked back. Stella Dunn poured in 22 points, Sidney Strause and Sophie Dougherty combined for 23 rebounds, and the Wildcats picked up their fifth win of the season, 45-29.

Teays Valley never had a chance to get going after a seven-point first half. Its quests already owned an 11-point advantage and played tough defense the rest of the way.

Dunn added a pair of 3s, while Angela Hartline was the next highest WCC scorer with five points.

Lauren White led TVC in points with 11.

St. Marys 66, Tyler Consolidated 35

ST. MARYS, W.Va. — St. Marys (5-1) took care of business on Friday night, as they quickly dispatched of visiting Tyler Consolidated in a 66-35 win.

Lara Fetty led the way with 15 points, and she was joined by big performances from Olivia Deweese (12 points) and Josey Moore (11 points).

Lauren Templeton led the Silver Knights with eight points.
