AUSTINTOWN — Marietta College placed three players on the 2020-21 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Team announced Wednesday (March 10) morning by the league office. In voting by the conference coaches, Bailee Brooks (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls), Erin Hahn (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville), and Hannah Schill (Rootstown, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) were all named All-OAC Honorable Mention.

“I am really pleased we were able to have three players from our team receive recognition for the OAC head coaches. Each of these players had a large part in us being competitive in the league,” said Head Coach Kole Vivian.

Brooks, a senior guard, earned the first All-OAC honor of her career. Brooks was off to a solid start to the season, she was averaging 9.2 points per game, and pulled down 3.7 rebounds per night. Brooks was leading the team in steals before a knee injury ended her season six games in.

“In my opinion, Brooks was the top true point guard in the league before her injury. She was a great leader for our team and brought us elite ball handling, defense, and experience on the court,” added Coach Vivian. “She worked really hard this offseason to be an all-conference player and I am happy the league’s coaches saw the value she brought our team.”

Hahn, a sophomore forward, also earned her first All-OAC honor. The forward was a forced on the glass, she pulled down 8.5 rebounds per game, which ranked third best in the OAC. Hahn also added 9.2 points per game, and had four double-doubles on the season.

Coach Vivian stated, “Hahn really took a big step from her freshman to sophomore year. Her defense on the perimeter was a huge reason we didn’t have to go small to match up with teams, and she was a force on the glass and in the post. The way she handled the ball was a big boost for us as well.”

Schill earned Honorable Mention honors for the first time as a freshman from her guard position. She tied for the team lead in points per game with 10.9, and grabbed 2.2 rebounds per night. Schill led the Pioneers in assists with 2.8 per game (36 total assists), which was sixth in the OAC.

“Schill really stepped up for our team this year. After we inserted her in the starting line up, she really took off and finished the year with seven straight double figure scoring games and was one of the best defensive guards in the league. For a freshman to do what she did this year is really special,” concluded Coach Vivian.
