Fort Frye softball clinches TSL championship

BEVERLY — The 2025 Twin State League softball championship belongs to Fort Frye.
The Cadets clinched the league title with a 13-0 win over Marietta Saturday. An eight-run fourth inning sparked the victory.
Jayden Brown had a two-run double while Emmie Duskey and Ella Dowler each produced two-run singles as part of the rally. Carmen Henniger and Faith Treadway each plated a run in the frame.
Taylor Hendershot pitched a five-inning, complete-game shutout for FFHS. She allowed two hits, two walks and registered three strikeouts.
Julia Malone took the loss for the Tigers (11-10). She went 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with four punchouts and two walks. Chloe Harris pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief and surrendered eight runs on six hits with one free pass and two strikeouts.
Malone and Hailey Miller each singled to lead a quiet day for the MHS offense.
Henniger finished 4 for 4 at the plate for the Cadets, who improved to 12-7 and finished 4-2 in the TSL. Hendershot collected three hits while Treadway, Brown and Duskey notched two hits apiece. Duskey posted a team-high three runs-batted-in.
