SALEM, Va. — The accolades keep coming for Marietta College senior running back Roger Walker. Walker was named to the 2017 D3football.com All-American first team Friday evening. The All-American teams were released in conjunction with the NCAA Division III National Championship Stagg Bowl.

“Roger is taking his rightful place among the top two or three players Marietta has ever had,” Marietta head coach Andy Waddle said. “He is right there with Dante Brown, Kenneth Sasu and Dallas Garber.”

Walker joins DanteBrown as the only first team All-Americans in Pioneer football history. Brown earned first team honors in 1996. This is Walker’s third career All-American honor making him the most decorated football player to ever wear the Navy Blue and White.

In addition to this first team selection, Walker was named to the Associated Press Little All-America second team and was an honorable mention D3football.com All-American in 2016.

Walker earned first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors after leading the OAC in rushing touchdowns with 17, total touchdowns with 20 and points scored with 122. He finished his career with 52 total touchdowns, good for second place on Marietta’s all-time list two behind Brown. In his final game, Walker eclipsed 4,000 career rushing yards and 5000 career all-purpose yards.
