MC men make 6th straight NCAA tourney

The Marietta College men’s basketball team received an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament Monday afternoon. The Pioneers, making their ninth NCAA appearance, will travel to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia for the first and second round games slated for March 6-7.
Randolph-Macon (26-2 overall), winners of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, will play Wesley College (18-9) in the first round. Wesley won the Atlantic East Conference.
Marietta (21-6) fell in the semifinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and received one of the 21 at-large bids into the tournament field. The Pioneers first round opponent will be The College of New Jersey (19-8), winners of the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Game times for Friday and Saturday will be announced later.
The 64-team championship field is comprised of 43 conference champions and 21 at-large teams. First and second round games will be played March 6-7. Third round games will take place on March 13-14 with the Elite Eight and Semifinal games on March 20-21 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Championship game is slated for April 5 in Atlanta.
