NEW MATAMORAS - Frontier High School graduate Cadence Cline was awarded the inaugural $1,000 Brenda Charlene Reed DeGori Memorial Scholarship on June 12. The scholarship check will be sent directly to West Virginia University at Parkersburg, where Cline is registered to begin a program in education this fall. In May, readers cast votes for 1,837 reader-nominated businesses and now we are down to the top five vote getters in each category. There are 964 businesses left to compete in 10 categories and 192 subcategories, according to Marietta Times Advertising Director Lisa Northcraft.
